WELLPUTT mats look different from the velvet ball-return mats. The surface is designed to roll like a medium-to-fast real green, and it is covered in printed guides: lines for putter path and body alignment, marks for stroke length, and targets that tell you whether your pace was right. There is no hole and no return. You putt to the end of the mat, and the markings tell you how good the putt was. That makes it a training tool more than a game, and golfers who want to fix their stroke tend to prefer it. WELLPUTT also sells 10 ft and 13 ft Classic versions for more money.
